Merve Akdogan (they/them), is an interdisciplinary designer, creative technologist, and architect whose work is a unique amalgamation of machine learning, AI, immersive art, data science, and computational art. Emphasizing the performativity of agents, both human and non-human, their work enriches technology and data-driven projects with a strong focus on performative and artistic elements. They view technology and machines not just as tools for efficiency, but as active learners contributing to societal and environmental systems, participating in a broader cultural and philosophical narrative.

Inspired by the historical aspects of machine learning and AI, they delve into automata, exploring the use of old mechanisms and systems combined with contemporary approaches. They have a particular interest in the 'absurdity' of contemporary automata, using this lens to create new perspectives on machines. Discussing the functionalities and the potential to embody 'queerness', they challenge conventional views, envisioning machines as agents for activism and poetic expression within dynamic environments. This approach transcends traditional roles, redefining the boundaries of machine interaction and opening new possibilities for understanding technology's role in society.
This website is a collection of some projects; some from college days, some workshop and competition outputs, some for professional architectural work, some tattoos, some new ideas, and more.
